Optelecom-NKF released its S-40, a new, compact MPEG-4 video server that converts analog video into IP/Ethernet MPEG-4 streams. The S-40, attractive in price and design, brings IP video surveillance within reach of a broad range of customers. By developing the S-40 video server, Optelecom-NKF anticipated the rising demand for professional surveillance solutions based on analog camera inputs. Because of its simple (user-friendly) plug-and-play functionality, the S-40 is the perfect solution for migrating from existing analog systems to digital video surveillance systems. The S-40 MPEG-4 streaming video is optimised for both low bandwidth and Hi-Res DVD-quality video applications. It offers streaming audio, data, dry contacts, video motion detect, and pre-recording. The compact and stylish housing is developed to ensure a wide operating temperature range. This versatile MPEG-4 video server is well suited for almost any CCTV or camera monitoring application.
