Dedicated Micros showcases new 'Normal, Medium and Low' default recording settings for its feature-packed, SD Range of DVRs, together with Analytics Capability a first in the mid range CCTV market - targeted at small to medium size businesses. The 'Normal, Medium and Low' recording options for the plug and play DVR have been created to support consistent off-the-shelf recording performance per camera - regardless of the number of cameras - with units pre-configured for guaranteed storage of either 30 or 60 days. Pauline Norstrom, Worldwide Head of Marketing at Dedicated Micros, said: "This development for the SD Range allows customers to build a CCTV solution that removes the need for extensive set-up, delivering a uniform recording duration and smooth motion video on all cameras, out-of-the-box." "The introduction of the out-of-the-box record settings enables us to offer - through the implementation of our own embedded video processing capability, Analytics Capability to the mid range CCTV market, a first in the industry. " Under the 'Normal' default recording setting, continuous 5 pps MPEG-4 recording is supported on all cameras, on all channel variants. For 'Medium', the equivalent is 2 pps and 1pps for 'Low'. With the new recording options, there is still the flexibility if a target number of days recording is less than 30 or 60 days - to increase the picture quality. Also the advanced record menu can be individually configured by the installer to suit specific requirements, so they still have the flexibility to set specific cameras to much higher record rates. e.g. entry/exit routes. Various storage sizes are available for the SD Range dependent on the combination of the number of cameras, the 30 or 60 day storage options and the 'Normal, Medium and Low' setting selected. The SD also supports the new Dedicated Micros Managed Storage units specially designed for the arduous demands of 24 hour CCTV recording, featuring environmental monitoring and disk management capabilities. Analytics packages are available through a software and hardware licence upgrade through Dedicated Micros sister company D-Tec. |
