Video security system manufacturer - Mobotix AG - is now offering cameras with integrated video storage. Internal flash recording enables Mobotix to integrate recording capacities directly in the camera, thus replacing the PC and digital video recorders (DVRs) previously required. This new feature adds a further benefit to the decentralised Mobotix concept: network load is reduced to a minimum, as data no longer has to be transported via the network, even for long-term storage purposes. Mechanical moving parts, either in the camera itself or in the form of a fixed disk in the PC, are a thing of the past for the new Mobotix solution. Thus no time is wasted on the installation, configuration and maintenance of external devices - the camera becomes a stand-alone solution. An 8 or 16 GB memory integrated in the camera ensures that image data is archived both reliably and permanently. As it is stored in the camera itself, even narrow-band networks cease to be a problem, as storage takes place at a high image rate ahead of the network 'bottleneck'. The network only has to be used if the recorded image material needs to be read out for research purposes. The application fields for cameras with an integrated long-term storage system vary widely, ranging from the mobile sector via long-term documentation for building sites all the way to use in weekend homes, banks and post offices. Internal flash recording is available for the secure models of the camera series M12, D12 and M22, as well as the V12 vandalism-proof model. The medium is installed ex factory. |
