The Siemens range of auto focus zoom cameras now offers even greater flexibility with the addition of a dome option. Offering a 22x Optical Zoom lens in a vandal resistant, IP66 housing which can be ceiling or wall mounted, the camera is available in both colour and day-night models. It is designed for internal or external use, under variable lighting conditions and is laden with features including: - White balance
- Exposure settings
- Back light compensation
- Line-Lock synchronisation
- Noise reduction
All of the settings are achieved through the OSD menu on the keypad supplied. Individual camera text can be assigned to each camera for ease of identification. Switching between colour and mono mode is available via an external switch and the status of the camera can be superimposed within the video image. A PIP (picture-in-picture) function offers the option to superimpose a small live image, thereby allowing an image sequence to be frozen within the freeze function while the live image continues to be displayed in the PIP window. Monitoring a complete scene, the zoom function additionally ensures getting the right zoomed image section with more image details. Examples of applications include: - A parking garage where the zoom function is triggered by somebody purchasing a ‘pay and display' ticket zooms in on the person/ticket dispenser to allow security personnel to react quickly in case of theft or robbery.
- Cars driving into the car park triggering the zoom function to ensure a clear picture of the driver and the number plate. Besides security reasons this function can be used to interoperate with the access control system to automatically open the access barrier.
