New CEM xProx 200 range of card readers

Announcing the release of the CEM xProx 200 range of advanced card readers for use with CEM access control systems.  Thought to be the industry's most advanced card readers, the xProx 200 range is available in both traditional 125 kHz Proximity and 13.56 MHz MiFare (ISO14443A) smart card options, as well as offering high-end reader functionality such as LCD display, keypad and internal database for unique offline card validation at the door.

The xProx 200 range compliments the existing offering of CEM proximity readers by providing an advanced Mifare smart card reader solution at a cost-effective price, helping meet the growing demand for smart card solutions.  As well as supporting Mifare smart cards, the range offers advanced features such as a backlit LCD to display system and transaction outcomes to the cardholder, a keypad for added PIN security and an internal database that allows the reader to make access control decisions even when offline from its host controller ensuring the highest level of system resilience.          

In addition, the readers have the flexibility to be connected over standard RS-485 communications to a host CEM controller panel or connect directly over Ethernet without the need for an intelligent controller panel in the system design.  The flexibility offered by the xProx 200 range allows the connectivity to be changed from serial to Ethernet by simply reflashing (via factory upgrade) the reader firmware.

The xProx 200 range is available in a variety of reader options including:

• InfoProx^™ IPO200/210 - Proximity or MiFare reader options with LCD display, keypad and internal database; connects over RS485 comms to host controller panel
• InfoProx^™ Lite IPL200/210 - without internal database for lower  cost solution
• InfoProx^™ Exit IPX200/210 - Egress reader for all xProx 200 readers
• EtherProx^™ EPO200/210 - as InfoProx IPO200/210 but with onboard Ethernet connectivity removing the need for an intelligent controller panel in system design.
