Jubilee line- watching over the tube
Managing the fire and security elements of a network of this magnitude and ensuring the ongoing safety and security of passengers is a major task. Keeping an ageing network operating safely is difficult and as a result, London Underground is embarking on a program to transform the network over the next decade as rolling stock, infrastructure and real estate are revamped and upgraded.
A contract to upgrade the fire systems at four London Underground stations, Chalk Farm and Tuffnell Park stations on the Northern Line, and Swiss Cottage and St John’s Wood stations on the Jubilee Line, has also been secured. “ADT’s core business is the integration and installation of electronic fire and security solutions for a wide range of applications. However, ADT recognises that rail companies have very particular security and surveillance requirements and in order to help London Underground, and the rail industry as a whole, meet the challenges they face, ADT Rail was formed. ADT Rail is able to dedicate a specific resource and focus to the rail sector, where experienced personnel can provide a tailored service” says Mark Formby, Business Development Manager of ADT Rail. |
