The Bawadi Mall
The Bawadi Mall recently opened its first phase of development on the January 29, 2009. The Bawadi Mall is built on a plot of 80,000 m² (861,000 ft²) and is a very prominent project. The shopping mall, with a two-level building, will be the largest in the eastern region of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, with convenient access to the Al Ain City's main network of highways.
The mall gives its' visitors a strong feeling of space and comfort. Natural light floods the space by day and is replaced at night with special lighting that showcases design features. The central court forms a warm family attraction that brings in a taste of nature.
Providing a safe shopping environment
To ensure the visitors comfort and safety at the Bawadi Mall the security of the premises is of key importance. To this end, Siqura B.V. has been approached by Al-Futtaim Engineering (commissioned by Nael & Bin Harmal Investment Co.) to supply the equipment for the video and data transmission of the CCTV system that consists of 203 cameras, including 133 cameras for the mall, 43 cameras for the Heritage Village that consists of traditional shops, entertainment stage, and much more, and another 16 cameras in the District Cooling Plant and 11 outdoor high end PTZ cameras. All of these cameras are transmitting their signal through Siqura fibre optic transmission equipment.

The prestigious Bawadi Mall project requires state-of-the-art and high quality security equipment and to this end Al-Futtaim Engineering Security & LV Systems Division (the system integrator for the entire Bawadi Mall project) has chosen to work with Siqura.

The Siqura range of proven fibre optic transmitters and receivers like the Octa, Tetra, VBS, PSA, and MC11 are implemented to transmit video, data and alarm contacts for the CCTV cameras.
Building a strong partnership
Following the successful cooperation in the first phase of the Bawadi Mall security, Al-Futtaim Engineering has also contracted Siqura to supply the fiber optic transmission equipment for the District Cooling Plant and the Heritage Village. This CCTV system will consist of an additional 70 cameras that are connected through products from Siqura. Siqura strives to build strong partnerships with the system integrators in projects like Bawadi Mall to ensure a high quality, cost-efficient solution and integration together with the local system integrator.
