| VIVOTEK network cameras offer higher level of security for motor yachts|
SUMA, VIVOTEK's distributor in Poland, has helped Polish Shipyard Conrad S.A build up an IP surveillance system for its Classic C58 motor yacht. The system includes one FD6121V installed in the machinery room and one IP6122 network cameras on the deck.
A long cruise would generate a lot of heat in the machinery room, leading to potential threats of equipment breakdown or even fire accidents. Therefore, the machinery room needs constant monitoring to make sure all equipment in normal operation. Before using VIVOTEK's surveillance system, the captain has to patrol regularly, which is inefficient and time-consuming.
Apart from the machinery room, changes on the ocean or activities on the deck also add risks to the motor yacht. As a result, the captain needs a surveillance system that keeps him informed of changes on the ocean and the status on the deck when he is in the control room. If any emergence occurs, such as someone falling off the yacht, he will be able to take immediate action. As Classic C58 is furnished with an intranet network system, the owner of the yacht has opted for IP-based network cameras.
SUMA installed a VIVOTEK FD6121V, a day and night vandal-proof network camera, in the machinery room. FD6121V comes with a removable IR-cut filter and built-in IR illuminators, providing clear-cut monitoring images in both daytimes and nighttimes. Its high-resolution Sony CCD sensor further enhances image quality. As a result, the control room can have full control over the operating conditions in the machinery. In addition, the camera offers a DI/DO interface, which can be connected to an external alarm or sensor. When an emergency occurs, people on the yacht will be alerted.

Another network camera placed on the deck of Classic C58 is VIVOTEK IP6122, which is used to monitor the status on the sea and people on the deck. The IP6122 is characterized by a CS-mount lens, which can be replaced with a vari-focal or IR lens. By substituting the original lens to one with IR illuminators, IP6122 can deliver high quality images even in the nighttime, giving the control room comprehensive control over the changes on the ocean during day and night.
Both FD6121V and IP6122 support dual-codec. As a result, video streams can be transmitted and viewed in MPEG-4 or MJPEG formats, giving the control room more flexibility in monitoring and recording. With two-way audio support, the control room and people on the yacht can communicate with each other, so problems can be solved more efficiently and effectively.

Day & Night Surveillance
The incorporated IR-cut filter and IR illuminators of FD6121V and the CS-mount lens of IP6122 that can be replaced by an IR lens give users the capability of constant monitoring during day and night.
Through two-way audio function, the control room can communicate with people on the yacht or technicians in the machinery room. In case of an emergence, people on the yacht can report the situations to the control room and the control room can give appropriate instructions immediately.
