Paxton Access' Net2 Access Control eases San Marino Police Department Chief Isaacs's concerns about security

Although security at the San Marino Police Department was considered important, it had become a little outdated, and in 2007 Chief Isaacs decided to review it.  From the four companies that submitted proposals, Post Alarm Systems won the bid with Net2.

Chief Isaacs explains, "From their demonstration we could see that the Net2 system was robust enough to give us the security that we needed, but with the added benefit of knowing who was coming into our building too."

"We recommended Net2 for this installation due to the simplicity of the user interface.  The police are very busy and do not want to spend hours learning new software," says Mr Dunner, Vice President, Post Alarm Systems.  "From an installation perspective the access control units are clearly labelled and the paper work for hooking them up is great; initialising and launching the software is also easy."

The Net2 system has been up-and-running for some months now and Chief Isaacs is very pleased with the functionality of the system.  Not only does it do more than he was expecting, it has also eased his mind about security around the station, especially in sensitive areas.  Now officers can see who has visited, where they've been and have the ability to block lost or stolen cards instantly!

"I am now keen to expand the system," explains Chief Isaacs.  "We have done phase one, and I am now looking at funding to add control to more of our internal doors.  I have also spoken to other departments in the city about entrusting their security to Net2 and Post Alarm Systems."

Advantages:

  • Intuitive user interface
  • Clearly labelled ACUs
  • Easy to install
  • Retrofit capabilities
