The Universities of Birmingham, Brighton, Leeds, Portsmouth, Oxford Brooks, UCL and Warwick as well as Kings College, Grantham College and Seven Oaks School were just a few of the educational establishments represented at the Securing Educational Establishments conference which took place on 5th March at Jury's Inn, Birmingham.
Vicon supported the event and took the opportunity to demonstrate how an integrated networked IP CCTV solution can create a safe and secure environment for students, administrators and teaching staff. "Vicon is ideally placed to provide effective and cost-efficient systems for the Education sector," said Richard Allen-Miles, Vicon's Sales Director for UK and Ireland. "This was reflected in the interest in our very latest video management technology which can offer improved control room efficiency and makes life extremely easy for security personnel to observe and react to any incident."
It was clear from the views expressed at the conference that personnel responsible for security in colleges, schools and universities are looking for value from their investment in CCTV and at the same time want a system that is future proof. "With the release of ViconNet version 5, educational establishments now have access to an incredibly powerful and easy to use ‘open platform' software. In addition, ViconNet 5's fully integrated video analytics provide added value by empowering control room operators to quickly identify suspicious activity and retrieve pre-recorded video evidence."
