TDSi secures international banks

TDSi has provided access control solutions to many of the world's leading banks and financial institutions, having developed systems for companies including HBOS, Royal Bank of Scotland, AIG and the Anglo Irish Bank.

The company has earned an enviable reputation for the design and supply of high volume door systems across security-critical, multi-site applications, with experience across a wide range of projects.

In 2003, TDSi developed a mantrap solution for the Bank of China, providing protection to the vaults in each of the bank's 750 branches - all of which are centrally controlled from its head office in Beijing.

Unlike most other systems that would require two controllers to control the outer and inner doors to the vaults, a single TDSi eXcel 4 unit operates the access control in to and then through the mantrap.   TDSi's eXguard PRO software provides the programme management for the system, one of the features of which is the ability to specify up to nine separate cardholders to present their cards to the reader in order to gain access to the vault.

Based on the success of this mantrap system, a similar installation was completed for the offices of the China Construction Bank in 2004/05.

Elsewhere in China, TDSi's eXpert controller is at the heart of the Agricultural Bank of China's data processing complex in Shanghai.  Controlling over 1,400 doors across six separate office towers, the system features eXguard PRO software, which not only drives the access control, but also allows integration to the full building management system via an OPC interface.

Further up the supply chain, the company's access control systems are also in operation in each of the seven factories that manufacture currency in China - three of which are note production facilities and four are coin.

Amongst current projects, TDSi is working closely with the Romanian National Bank to provide an effective, user-friendly access control system for the bank's ATM halls.  A pilot project is currently in operation to allow customers to access the secure halls simply by using their standard ATM card.  Driven by a TDSi MicroGarde controller, on successful completion of the pilot, the system will be introduced to each of the bank's 2,000 plus branches over a three year programme.
