Vanderbilt Industries to acquire Siemens’ Security Products business and Allegion identifies three security practices to help school leaders address security threats
In today’s weekly news round-up, Vanderbilt Industries has entered into an agreement to acquire Siemens’ Security Products business. The business will be renamed Vanderbilt International and Joseph J. Grillo will be Managing Director, working from the new operational headquarters in Germany. In application news, Allegion has identified three critical security practices to help US school leaders address evolving security threats as part of National Safe Schools Week. The three practices recommended by Allegion include staying focused on proven and reliable practices, developing a lockdown strategy, and planning and preparing.
In other corporate news, Vicon has named Bret McGowan as Senior Vice-President Sales for the Americas, Far East and Western Africa. Following Vicon’s ongoing integration with IQinVision, Bret will take responsibility for the combined sales organisation. In events news, Tyco Security Products recently hosted a series of technology events. The sessions featured demonstrations of security solutions from Tyco Security Products brands including DSC, CEM Systems and American Dynamics. Finally, MasterCard and Zwipe have launched the world’s first contactless payment card featuring an integrated fingerprint sensor.
