Transportation security in the modern world
Transportation systems have become a prime target for terrorist attacks. The Madrid train bombings and the 7/7 bombings in London are recent examples of the massive impact that such an attack can have in a sector which does not enjoy the same high level of proactive security measures typical at airports. These, along with the everyday security issues such as vandalism, thefts, attacks against passengers and staff, and fare dodging, highlight the importance of a robust and comprehensive security system.
