The power of remote monitoring

The advantages of a surveillance or security system having remote monitoring capability go well beyond reduced manpower and the associated cost of "local" monitoring. Remote monitoring enables policing without the risk of physical assault, monitoring from multiple locations or even networking video footage for public access, and the ability to overlay intelligent video analytics like motion detection to enhance functionality and reduce human error.

In the UK, almost two-thirds of burglary victims are at home when the crime takes place.  Nearly half of them have no idea intruders are in the house.
