Verint Networked Video Solution selected to enhance security of mass transit system in Spain

Published on 25 November 2005

MetroValencia to deploy Verint Solution to enhance passenger safety across commuter rail system

Verint Systems Inc., a leading provider of analytic software-based solutions for communications interception, networked video security and business intelligence, today announced that Spain’s MetroValencia is deploying Verint’s Networked Video Solution to enhance passenger security for the city of Valencia’s commuter rail system.

MetroValencia, operated by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV), provides transportation services to 60 million passengers each year across four rail lines within the metropolitan area of the city of Valencia.  As part of an ongoing strategy to enhance passenger security and improve customer service, MetroValencia is implementing Verint’s Mobile Networked Video Solution in rail cars on certain portions of its railway system.  The Verint solution will enable rail operations personnel to more effectively prevent crime and create a safe environment for passengers and employees.  The Verint solution is being provided in conjunction with rail manufacturer Vossloh AG.

Verint’s Networked Video Solutions enable government and commercial organizations to enhance the security of their facilities by networking video across multiple locations and applying advanced content analytics to extract actionable intelligence from live and stored video.  By alerting security personnel to potential security threats, Verint’s Networked Video Solutions are designed to help organizations prevent security breaches and improve response time.

We are pleased to welcome Spain’s MetroValencia to our growing base of mass transit authorities,” said Dan Bodner, President and CEO of Verint Systems Inc.  “We have significant experience working with global transportation authorities and are committed to delivering innovative networked video solutions to enhance security of transit system infrastructure.”
