In access control system installations requiring full availability, Siemens recommends that customers run the SiPass integrated software on an everRun FT server from Marathon Technologies, a US-based provider for high availability software solutions. The result is an access control system that is completely immune to server failures. Siemens Building Technologies and Marathon have fully tested and qualified the system configurations and have found that they are easy to use and manage, providing the highest possible levels of system robustness. When the SiPass integrated software is installed on an everRun FT server, any component can fail with no effect on the operation of the SiPass integrated software. Data and transactional integrity are guaranteed. Online repairs can be performed without interrupting the system and any repaired component can be brought back into the system without causing problems. In addition, Marathon's SplitSite technology provides disaster tolerance against site outages (fire, explosion, flooding and loss of power) by allowing geographic separation of the everRun co-servers. |
